The Saddest Place of Christmas

Christmas tree dump sites are so sad, don't you think?

These trees were beautiful, treasured, decorated with our most loved memories in bauble and ornament form. And a few weeks later they are drying and dying in a parking lot of a local baseball park.
As much as I know each of these trees was loved, I can't help but think of that montage in Toy Story 2 when they play that song "When She Loved Me" and I bawled.

We loved our real tree and we've decided we think we'll go real again next year. She was good to us, holding on to her needles very well and standing proud all through the holidays. In the end, though, she ended up with the others this last weekend, leaving us with fond memories and Michael with a strained shoulder.
